
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) announced that Velma Hart, MBA, FASAE, CAE will begin her role as NAWIC’s Interim Executive Director on February 17, 2025. An experienced C-level executive, Hart has worked for various associations throughout her career including serving most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of the Construction Specifications Institute. Hart is also former Board Chairman for the American Society of Association Executives and an ASAE Fellow. NAWIC worked with Vetted Solutions, the leading specialist in providing interim leadership solutions in the association and nonprofit sector, on this search.
Hart will act as Interim Executive Director for NAWIC until a permanent Executive Director can be selected. The search for NAWIC’s new Executive Director will open shortly. The new Executive Director will be a motivated, inspirational leader who is a team builder and will focus on the strategic advancement of NAWIC will assume the responsibility of advancing NAWIC’s mission.
