THE CURRICULUM

PROGRAM ROADMAP

Interactive weekly sessions featuring Q&A, guest speakers, collaboration, and real-world application.

Establish your personal intentions and career goals within the construction industry. Participants will explore the current industry landscape, learn about personal leadership journey mapping, develop a leadership mindset differentiating transactional and transformational styles, set personal boundaries, and review relevant construction certifications.

Define and enhance your leadership brand. Learn strategies to increase visibility inside and outside your organization, leveraging platforms like LinkedIn and industry groups to showcase your expertise and build a strong personal brand.

Learn to leverage networks for advancement. We cover creating authentic connections, maintaining meaningful professional relationships, and understanding the vital role of allyship.

Explore diverse career pathways in construction such as field leadership, project management, operations, and business ownership. Identify your transferable skills, leverage personal strengths, and foster the confidence to make bold career choices and recognize new career opportunities.

Cultivate a situational confidence and commanding presence. Topics include speaking up effectively and assertively, differentiating influence from power, using assertive communication without abrasiveness, applying transactional vs. transformational influence strategies, and effective communication in job sites and meetings. It also covers navigating bias, amplifying personal impact, and managing resistance to leadership.

This module focuses on practical team leadership. It covers building trust, credibility, and essential skills to lead effective teams. Participants will learn to motivate, develop, and empower team members (using both transactional and transformational approaches), resolve conflicts, practice difficult conversations, apply time and project management strategies, and foster effective delegation and collaboration.

Mastering negotiation skills for career advancement. Topics include reflecting on personal evaluations, developing an effective “ask” for promotions, salary increases, and title changes, articulating professional value, building a business case, salary benchmarking, and practicing confident communication and self-advocacy through role-plays.

Finalize your Leadership Development Plan. Participants will consider their desired leadership style, integrate principles of assertive communication and allyship, build self-awareness regarding personal boundaries, create an accountability roadmap, explore AI tools and resources for ongoing development, and focus on continuous self-discovery.
