NAWIC Announces Winner of 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award 

Jennifer Dewees is recognized for 16 years of significant contributions  

 Fort Worth, Texas — September 8, 2026 — The National Association of Women in Construction has announced Jennifer Dewees as the winner of its Lifetime Achievement Award for 2026.  

Dewees has made exceptional contributions to NAWIC through more than 16 years of dedicated service at the chapter, regional, and national levels. Since joining the Baltimore Chapter, she has served continuously on the board and held nearly every chapter leadership role, providing stability, guidance, and valuable institutional knowledge through many transitions. She is currently the President of the Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation. 

 "Jenn has always been willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to serve NAWIC," noted Jodi Wiemerslage, President of NAWIC. Dewees' national service has included leadership roles in professional development and education, marketing, and chapter leadership. She also helped develop NAWIC's current brand identity, leaving a lasting mark on how the association presents itself across the country. Regionally, Jenn played a key role in planning Northeast Region forums and conferences for nearly a decade, facilitating meaningful educational and leadership opportunities for members.

Dewees has also been a strong advocate for workforce development and career awareness. She has supported Camp NAWIC, NEF Block Kids, and career outreach efforts that introduce young people to opportunities in the construction industry. Locally, she has helped organize events that reach more than 1,000 students in ways that support future workforce growth. 

 Beyond her formal roles, Dewees is respected as a mentor, collaborator, and steady leader who empowers others to get involved and grow. Her legacy is seen not only in programs and initiatives, but in the many leaders she has helped develop and inspire.
