Safety Excellence Award

Submission Period: May 4th-June 10th

The NAWIC Safety Excellence Award honors NAWIC member companies that have successfully implemented exemplary safety and health programs, fostering a culture where safety is not just prioritized but ingrained — recognized across three categories: General Contractor, Subcontractor, and Supplier/Trucking.

Entrants

  • Open to NAWIC member companies in the construction industry
  • Submissions are accepted across three categories: General Contractor, Subcontractor, and Supplier/Trucking
  • One submission per category per company
  • Demonstrated safety priorities must be for projects, programs, or activities that took place between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year

A winning entrant must demonstrate:

  • A strong safety culture with visible leadership commitment at all levels of the organization
  • Effective safety programs and practices that are consistently documented and applied
  • Measurable safety performance and results, supported by metrics such as TRIR, DART, and EMR
  • Comprehensive employee training, communication, and engagement strategies, including maintained OSHA 300 logs
  • Innovation and continuous improvement in safety initiatives

Fees

  • Entry fee: $359 per submission
  • All entry fees are non-refundable
  • Applications are not considered complete until payment has been received

Deadline

  • 2026 submissions deadline: June 10th
  • All materials must be submitted via Sessionboard. Submissions sent via email, phone, shared drive, fax, or post will not be accepted
  • Deadline extensions and exceptions will not be granted

Review Process

  • All eligible entries are evaluated by an independent panel of industry professionals
  • Jurors review submissions independently before convening to discuss and select recipients
  • Contact from applicants or their supporters to jurors is strictly prohibited

Recognition

Award recipients will be announced and honored at NAWIC’s Annual Conference. Recipients will receive additional details with their selection notification.
