Sustainability Award

Submission Period: May 13th-June 10th

The NAWIC Sustainability Award recognizes construction industry organizations that have demonstrated a profound commitment to sustainability through innovative practices that reduce waste, energy use, emissions, and resource consumption while inspiring others to adopt environmentally conscious approaches.

Entrants

  • Open to organizations within the construction industry
  • NAWIC membership is required for the nominee
  • As of May 1 of the current year, the nominee must have been a member of NAWIC for at least 1 year

A winning entrant must demonstrate:

  • A sustained commitment to sustainability through specific, measurable initiatives within their organization
  • Tangible outcomes including reductions in waste, energy consumption, or emissions
  • Innovative practices or solutions that advance sustainability within the organization or broader community
  • Leadership that inspires others to adopt sustainable practices, including collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Long-term, lasting change that contributes to ongoing sustainability goals
  • Demonstrated sustainability priorities must be for projects, programs, or activities that took place between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year

Deadline

  • 2026 submissions deadline: June 10th
  • All materials must be submitted via Sessionboard. Submissions sent via email, phone, shared drive, fax, or post will not be accepted
  • Deadline extensions and exceptions will not be granted

Review Process

  • All eligible entries are evaluated by an independent panel of industry professionals
  • Jurors review submissions independently before convening to discuss and select recipients
  • Contact from applicants or their supporters to jurors is strictly prohibited

Recognition

Award recipients will be announced and honored at NAWIC’s Annual Conference. Recipients will receive additional details with their selection notification.
