Industry Mental Health Leadership Award

Submission Period: May 14th-June 17th

Presented in collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Hard Hat Courage, this award recognizes individuals who champion mental health and suicide prevention in the construction industry by equipping professionals with the tools to care for themselves and support one another.

Entrants

  • Open to any individual working in or alongside the construction industry
  • NAWIC membership is not required

A winning entrant must demonstrate:

  • Transformative leadership in advancing mental health awareness and suicide prevention within the construction industry
  • Key initiatives that have directly contributed to improving the overall well-being of the construction workforce
  • Meaningful impact that extends beyond their immediate workplace to influence industry best practices or policies
  • Measurable outcomes that illustrate the effectiveness of their mental health and suicide prevention efforts

Deadline

  • 2026 submissions deadline: June 17th
  • All materials must be submitted via Sessionboard. Submissions sent via email, phone, shared drive, fax, or post will not be accepted
  • Deadline extensions and exceptions will not be granted

Review Process

  • All eligible entries are evaluated by an independent panel of industry professionals
  • Jurors review submissions independently before convening to discuss and select recipients
  • Contact from applicants or their supporters to jurors is strictly prohibited

Recognition

Award recipients will be announced and honored at NAWIC’s Annual Conference. Recipients will receive additional details with their selection notification.
